Rain falls on the roof and most of us keep scrolling. Grass grows cool and damp under our feet and we walk right over it, phone in hand, mind somewhere else entirely. We are moving so fast through our days that we miss the day itself.

What we miss is rarely information. It's presence.

You downloaded the app that tracks your sleep. You bought the magnesium. You tried the cold plunge, the morning pages, the gratitude journal, the supplement stack someone recommended in a group chat. You blocked off Sunday for rest, and then spent it optimizing your rest, choosing the right playlist, the right candle, the right amount of stillness measured against everyone else's stillness online.

And somehow you are more tired than when you started.

Your phone buzzed before your feet hit the floor this morning. By the time you poured your coffee, you had already absorbed a dozen headlines, three requests, and someone else's opinion about something you didn't ask about. The day had not started yet. And you were already full.

This is the water we swim in now. Too much noise. Too much input. Too much to do. We carry more information in a single day than previous generations encountered in a month, and we carry it in our pockets, in our bloodstream, in the low hum of anxiety that never quite turns off.

And here is the strange part. Even our spiritual lives have taken on the same shape.
